Meet the team

Mr Hawker - Class Teacher

Hello everyone! I’m Mr Hawker, and I’m thrilled to be your Year 5 teacher this year! 🌟

Teaching is not just a job for me; it’s my passion! I absolutely love all aspects of the primary curriculum, from exploring the wonders of science to delving into the realms of history and literature. 📚✨ There’s so much to discover together, and I can't wait to embark on this exciting journey with each and every one of you!

One of my favourite things about teaching is seeing the spark of curiosity in my students' eyes. It's contagious! I am committed to creating a lively and engaging classroom environment where every student feels inspired to learn, ask questions, and share their ideas. 🚀

I'm particularly excited about our upcoming projects and the opportunity for us to collaborate, create, and maybe even have a bit of fun along the way! 🎨💡 Teamwork is at the heart of what I do, and I believe that together we can achieve amazing things.

Expect a year filled with creativity, discovery, and lots of fun! If you have any questions or just want to say hi, feel free to reach out. Let’s make this year one to remember!

Key Information

Year 5 will begin school at 8:35am and we will finish the day at 3:05pm.

PE Days: We will take part in PE sessions on a TUESDAY afternoon.

PE Uniform: St Andrews' hooded sweatshirt, a white plain polo shirt, plain tracksuit bottoms/leggings (dark blue/black), suitable trainers.

Library: We will read in the library on a Wednesday so please remember to bring your library on this day.  We will try to replace the books every couple of weeks so that it gives each child time to read their chosen book.

Spellings: We will learn 10 spelling words (linked to a specific spelling rule) every Monday and then children will be quizzed on these words on a Friday.

📣 Check Out Our ClassDojo Page! 🚀
