It was great to see lots of parents some along to our craft and film afternoon that we held in school, it was lovely to see the children and parents working hard to design and decorate their rockets. The children took great pride in having their parents in school and talking all about their learing on space.

The children have enjoyed another CoJo session in school. The children went to the hall and discovered a secret mission that had been left for them by Commando Joe! This week the children were introduced to 'Parveen Positivity' and she helped guide them through a problem solving task in which they had to work as a team to get down a mountain, the children had to remain positive even when they were faced with a challenge!

It was great to see a real ‘give it a go’ attitude and smiles on their faces!

At the beginning of this half term we had our first 'My Happy Mind' session, we talked about what our brain is, what is looks like, how important it is and how we can help to look after it. We discussed that our brains are busy working hard and that the brain helps us to complete lots of everyday tasks. Please have a chat at home with your child about the learning we have done in school.

We have been busy exploring all areas of provision in the classroom since returning after the half term break, it has been great to see how well the children have settled back into their learning!

This week in Nursery, we have been exploring and comparing different sized objects. We have learnt the vocabulary 'big' 'medium' and 'small'. 

We discovered some magic beans and gardening equipment in Nursery and Reception today. The children thought about what we could do with the magic beans and what might happen if we planted the magic beans. 

We had our second 'My Happy Mind' session today in Nursery. We thought about the size, shape and colour of our brain. We also recapped what our brain helps us to do. 

The children have been busy this week in Nursery writing their own shopping lists. 

Over the past few weeks in Nursery and Reception our learning has been based on the book 'Supertato' Today in Nursery, the children enjoyed making their very own 'Supertato'! 

The children in Nursery and Reception have very much enjoyed learning about their brain this half term in our 'Happy Mind' sessions. In today's session the children completed a mindfulness dot to dot and we also discussed how our brain helps us.
